Kaduna SMEs Learn How To Scale Up Businesses At Innovention Roundtable

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) owners and operators within Kaduna State on Thursday were provided an opportunity to scale up their activities and position their brands for growth at a one-day business discussion forum, tagged ‘Innovention Roundtable Kaduna.

The event which was held at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Indoor Hall, Murtala Square Kaduna, turned out to be an avenue for exchange of ideas, living up to the billing of its theme ‘How Innovation Drives Entrepreneurship: The Case For SMEs & Start-Ups’.
The peak of the roundtable featured the Innovention Roundtable Discussion, where  discussants, seasoned professionals in their various endeavours,  dealt extensively on how entrepreneurs can take advantage of every opportunity in growing their businesses.
The  discussants, comprising of Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Laoye Jaiyeola, CEO Zamani Foundation, Philomena Zamani-Henry, CEO OTRAC, Kabir Farida Mohammed, General Manager, Supreme FM Kaduna, Isaac Bare, Executive Vice Chairman, Verdant Zeal Group, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi and the Managing Director, Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN), Ibrahim Dutsinma Boyi, were able to educate the participants with the  ideas they needed to take their businesses to the next level.
In his welcome address, Dr. Olugbodi said that for the past six years, the Verdant Group has gathered patrons from both public and private sectors, local and international participants, scholars and corporate executives to plot the agenda for Africa’s development, with Nigeria as the epicentre.
“From these series, we have featured eminent Africans who have shared freely of their knowledge, experience and insight and we are most grateful for this,” he said.
He said that the roundtable was focusing on SMEs, entrepreneurship and  startups because they represent the growth engine for today and the future, especially in Nigeria.
“If the new narrative if the ‘African Lion’ must succeed, we cannot ignore the imperative to ensure strong structures to inspire new ways of building and conducting businesses,” he added.
He was optimistic that the workshop will leap frog Kaduna State as a major hub for sustainable business and technology advancements.
“Although milestones have been achieved in terms of economic development and growth in Kaduna State, platforms like these play contributory roles in expanding the scale to capture more interests and beneficiaries while strengthening the government’s vision of creating an enabling environment, notable for peace, security and welfare for all, and ultimately, restoring Kaduna as the true ‘Centre of Learning’, he emphasized.
The roundtable was organized by the Verdant Zeal Group, supported by the Kaduna State Government and PAN.
