Kaduna Teachers Admit Backing Pupils As Protest Against Sacking Of Colleagues Spreads

There was pandemonium in Narayi as school children took to the streets in protest of their sacked teachers.
Children questioned said the protest was in solidarity with their sacked teachers as a result of Governor Nasiru El-Rufai’s resolve to sack unqualified teachers after 20,000 thousand of them failed to pass primary four tests set for them.
Some of the teachers who spoke to this reporter refusing to mention their names said the protest became necessary as the sack has increased their work load, therefore making their job difficult.
UBE primary school Bayan Dutse with teachers population of 27 had 20 of them sacked, while LEA Narayi with teachers population of 37 had 23 sacked and this has increased work load.
The protest disrupted learning in these schools.
It would be recalled that the governor recently sacked 20,000 thousand teachers claiming they were unqualified.
It would also be recalled that the Kaduna pupils protest started on Monday at the Kawo axis of Kaduna metropolis.
