The Case instituted against the Hon Badung Pam faction of the PDP Plateau State has been withdrawn.
The matter came up at the JMDB Magistrate Court on Wednesday 25th April, 2018.
On the 14th March, 2018 when the matter came up, lawyers to D.T. Sango led exco headed by Bar Gyang Zi Esq, pleaded for an out of court settlement which was granted by the judge and matter adjourned to 25th April 2018.
Those served on behalf of the other faction were Hon. Gyang Badung Pam and Hon. Emmanuel Macham JP, who were regularly in the court.
A top source from the PDP secretariat operated by Hon.D.T Sango who pleaded anonimity said his group had challenges approaching the Sen Sheriff group it took the intervention of an Elder statesman Dara Chief Bulus Dareng to bring the two groups together.
Series of discussions were initiated by their lawyers led by Bar Gyang Zi, which resulted into an interactive session at the state party secretariat last Monday with Hon.Gyang Pam, Emmanuel Macham and other members of their group and the Chief Sango led exco who were all present at the session, to the buildup of the case withdrawal.
”our group is weary of how this case can be blown up into another big crises which will not be good for our party considering how 2019 is fast approaching hence the need to engage them as quick as possible,” the source said.
When the matter came up today 25th April, 2018, lawyer to DT Sango announced his client’s readiness to withdraw the matter from court.
Lawyers to Pam group led by Bar Aluma, Bar NN Durven, Bar Pam did not object to the request, but cleared that no discussion took place on the basis of out of court settlement, and said if the plaintiff’s lawyer wishes to withdraw the matter he is at liberty to do so.
Contacted after the court session, the Publicity Secretary of the Pam group in Plateau, Hon. Emmanuel Macham via telephone confirmed the case withdrawal.
”the other group withdrew the case instituted against us even though we had a meeting last Monday where many issues where discussed which includes sacking of some five staff from the party secretariat who where alleged to be loyal to us, victimization of members who were alleged to be loyal to our movement across the state, attacks on our members etc,” he added.
He said they finally agreed to bring both their lawyers before or after the court session on 25th April,2018.
He also said they have asked their lawyers to apply for the court proceedings and ruling on the case withdrawal by the plaintiff for studying and they will invite their supporters across the state to inform them of the development for the growth of the party.
It would be recalled that the case was instituted since 16th May 2017. It never proceeded, because there were numerous adjournments due to lack of evidence from the plantiff, drawing several warnings from the Magistrate Court Judge, Justice Parbong.
