Three Firms Handling Projects Worth N13.9bn Awarded By el-Rufai In Southern Kaduna

Apart from three schools and other health projects, three firms who are handling some among the several  projects being executed by the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, will be doing so at the cost of over 13.9bn.


This much was gathered on Thursday, when journalists mobilised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council embarked on a fact finding tour to Southern Kaduna.


A source at Embryo, the biggest beneficiary disclosed that their roads project are worth N7bn, while it was gathered at the Government Secondary School Kagoro, that same firm is executing contracts worth N400m.


Another firm, Farmtrac Nigeria Ltd is handling several projects, with the cost of some disclosed to be N6bn, while the third firm encountered, Habibu Engineering Nigeria Ltd is executing a bridge at the site of a previously collapsed one in Java LGA at the cost of N500m.


The Project Manager Embryo Nigeria Ltd, Engineer Ezekiel Adesokan who took the journalists round some if their projects, said that the  23km Yarbyan-Ayagan-Sakwak-Kamuru-Kurdan-Zauru-Kafanchan road in Jemaa  and Zango Kataf LGAs has reached 75 per cent completion.


At the Zauru 45metres bridge beside Throne room Ministries, the Project Manager  said that the bridge which was started by Throne Room Ministry, was taken over by them in 2016.


“The bridge is completed, but compensation for houses marked not yet completed, that is what is delaying the project from terminating at the Patrick Yakowa General Hospital, Kafanchan,” he said.


He said that they are  constructing roads in three local government areas; Kaura  Jemaa and Zango Kataf.


“We have Manchok Township Roads of 10km  and Kunyen 16km, alongside other roads projects,” he added.


He assured that before the next rainy season they  would round up all the projects.



At the Government Secondary School Kagoro, Abayomi Oke, representing Embryo said that they are in the second phase of work in the school.


“We are renovating GSS Kagoro. The value is at N200m for each phase and includes fence, classrooms and infrastructure. We have handed over first phase. Second phase to be completed soon but we have 65 per cent of the job done,” he said.



At the site of a collapsed bridge in Bitaro, Jaba LGA, the Engineer Wael Yanes who was seen on site on behalf of Habibu Engineering Nigeria  Ltd said that they started work on the site 11 days ago.


“We are working on a collapsed bridge in Bitaro, Jaba LGA  the bridge is four span 60 metres and will protect the area.


” It was awarded in February 2018 but we started working  10 days ago. We hope to complete it in six months,” he said.


Yanes added that their scope of work also covers road construction of 200metres, with 100 metres each before and after  the bridge, at a cost of N500m.


In Kachia LGA, the Project Coordinator of Farmtrac Nigeria Ltd, Surveyor Marcus Saleh, explained that the Kachia Township roads are gulping N1.2bn.


He explained that because the rains have cone, it would affect their pace of work, but assured that they would complete the job in about eight weeks.


“Based on programme of work, we hope to complete all Kachia roads in eight weeks. The project in Kachia is N1.2bn for 10km. Compensation took part of the cost.


He said that the  Sanga project which includes township roads and a bypass of 10km would cost is about N1.3bn, while 36 kilometres of roads in Kauru LGA would be gulping N3.5bn.


“Kauru is gulping N3.5bn for 36km of roads. Its cost is much because from Kwasam-Gishere, it is including three bridges,” he said.


He however, didn’t disclose the cost of the 16 kilometers of roads being constructed in Laduga, also in Kachia LGA


Meanwhile, excited by the ongoing projects in his vicinity, Village Head of Ayaga in Zango Kataf, LGA, Sanduki Kaura  told newsmen that they are happy about the road projects in their community.


The excited traditional ruler prayed for  God to bless the governor to complete the projects.
