Participants of the two-day workshop on Step-down Training on Budget Monitoring, Analysis and Scorecard System in Kaduna State, have agreed to intensify efforts towards ensuring that Child Spacing gets adequate attention in the 2019 budget.
This was agreed at the closing session of the workshop on Thursday, where they mandated the Reproductive Health (RH) Coordinator of the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA) to summon an emergency meeting of the sub committee towards actualising that.
The group said that the extensive report of the workshop should be drafted and made available to the committee, to fashion out strategies to be adopted for advocacy.
They also agreed to develop an action plan, which should focus on the need to achieving better for better results for child spacing in the state.
It was also agreed that adolescent Reproductive Health be captured as a component of the report.
The focal point was on the need to redefine the budget line of child spacing to make provisions for operational costs to be done side-by-side with that of purchase of consumables which was originally voted for.
They also agreed to secure the actual submission made for the budget for child spacing in 2019 fiscal year so that it can be studied and a case made during budget defence for the redefining.
In the closing remarks , Reproductive Health /Family Planning (RH) Coordinator, State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA), Nafisat Musa Isah commended the Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiatives (NURHI) for its interest and active participation in family planning budget for Kaduna State.
“We have reached the stage where we got all we want in terms of consumables. What is left is to take it to the final destination.
“We appreciate everyone who came here, we appreciate your contributions, ” she added.
The two-day workshop which started on Wednesday featured several sessions anchored by various resource persons.
