With less than three weeks to the Russia 2018 World Cup, the Ministry of Youths and Sports has resolved the crisis rocking Nigeria Football Supporters Club as they plan to invade Russia as one united family.
Disclosing this in Lagos, President General of the club.Dr. Rafiu OLadipo explained that the peace move which was initiated by the Ministry and headed by the Permanent Secretary, Olusade Adeshila, assisted by the Director of Grassroots Sports Development, Ademola Areh resolved that there was need to have one indivisible Supporters Club and it was generally accepted in the general interest of the country.
He also announced that the Ministry set up an eight man committee headed by himself with Vincent Okumagba as secretary to harmonise the activities of the club while a disciplinary committee was also set up with the right to sanction erring members.
” I want to announce to all Nigerians that we now have one united Supporters Club and this was made possible with the efforts of the Sports Ministry.
” Kudos must go to the Sports Minister Barrister Solomon Dalung for initiating the peace process and for members who decided to put aside their personal differences for the general interest of the country.
” What this means is that we are going to Russia as a united body and the disciplinary committee put in place with the mandate of punishing erring members will ensure that no one details the peace process which we all signed the communiqué”, Ladipo stated.
Meanwhile as part of it’s plans to support the Super Eagles to surpass their second round record at the Mundial, the club has concluded arrangement with veteran musician Chris MBA to launch a new music for the national team.
Titled Super Eagles; Give us victory, the song will be launched on Friday, June 9 ,2018 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.
” The club in conjunction with veteran musician Chris MBA have put in place a musical song to encourage and energise the national team to do well in Russia and we want all Nigerians to be part of the launch on June 9″. OLadipo concluded.
