Finally laying to rest the controversy surrounding the conduct of the rescheduled local government election in Chikun LGA in Kaduna State, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM), Dr. Saratu Dikko-Audu has declared that there were no elections held.
She expressed this while fielding questions from newsmen outside her office on Thursday.
The KADSIECOM boss insisted that elections were not held in the LGA in spite of a report that was circulated, suggesting that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had been declared winners.
The alleged Returning Officer, who described himself as Sani Mohammed PhD which the PDP later in a press briefing on Thursday described as fake, had announced that APC won by 56,660 against PDP score of 28,462.
PDP chairman Chikun LGA described as a result manufactured by the APC.
it is still unclear if the Returning Officer who announced the result amidst heavy security presence at the Chikun LGA Secretariat in Kujama was the one actually designated by the KADSIECOM, seeing that the result he announced has been discredited.
Earlier on Wednesday June 6 when the rescheduled polls were to hold, supporters of the PDP had thronged the LGA Secretariat where it was alleged that some lawmakers from the APC were said to be in possession of sensitive electoral materials.
They were rescued from an angry mob that almost lynched them by a combined security forces team.
