Igbudu Market Traders Association in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, (IMTA) on Friday vowed to stop the alleged illegal collection by Security Agents and the various Task Forces in the market.
IMTA President, Olorogun Clement Monorien made the vow following complaints of multiple collections by traders during its first congress twelve years after at the igbudu market square in Warri.
Monorien said,”We will stop the Security Agents and task force from the illegal collections or they shield their swords on their own.”
While noting that the police sometimes arrest traders when coming back from market, Monorien also urged his members to obtain their identity cards from his office for easy identification, stressing that,”that is the only way such unlawful arrests will stop.”
Monorien pointed out that there are many traders who are not members of the Association, adding that the identity card is one thousand Naira.
Monorient explained that the congress was organized to know plights of the traders and their activities.
Monorien also gave his stewardship for the five months his Executive has been in Office.
The IMTA president further said the office is open 24/7 with his speaker at anytime, adding that: “if you see my speaker, you have seen me. if am not around.”
He said the stewardship will make the traders feel better and have confidence in their executives and leaders.
Earlier, the traders had alleged that when ever they return back from journeys late in the night before they can take their goods to their stores, multiple taxes were usually collected from them by the aforementioned just as they thanked IMTA President for giving them platform to voice out their pains.
The speaker of IMTA thanked the president for his good work and developmental ideas.
Mr innocent IMTA speaker to the president also told AUTHENTIC News Daily that the market street lighto will soon be on, as everything had been put in place.
