There is anxiety over what will happen next as Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom in a surprise move on Sunday, embarked on a massive purge of his cabinet, retaining only four commissioners.
Though it is still unclear why he is taking the action, but AUTHENTIC News Daily believes it may not be unconnected to his plans to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The four Commissioners are, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Michael Gusa, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Dennis Ityavyar, Commissioner for Finance, Mr. David Olofu, and that of Lands, Survey and Solid Minerals, Mr. Bernard Unenge.
According to the statement, the Special Advisers who have retained their portfolios are those of Development Cooperation, SDGs and NEPAD, Dr Magdalyne Dura, Special Adviser on Education, Mr. Matthew Mnyam, Special Adviser on Gender, Employment and Labour Matters, Chief Ode Enyi, Special Adviser on Government House Administration, Mr. Thomas Anajav, Special Adviser on Media, Information and Communication Technology, Mr. Tahav Agerzua, Special Adviser on Security, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Hemba, retired, and Special Adviser on Special Duties, Mr. Joseph Odaudu.
it is being rumoured that Governor Ortom and former Governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume are not enjoying the best of relationship presently.
