The Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is a pacesetter that has made Kaduna State attractive to others, who come to learn.
Chairman of Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Honourable Abubakar Buba expresses this while fielding questions from newsmen in Kaduna on Saturday.
According to him, the governor’s introduction of the e-voting system is another first of its kind, not just in Nigeria, but the entire West Africa sub region.
“The e-voting is one of the areas where His Excellency, Makam Nasir el-Rufai is a pacesseter. He is highly intelligent, God has given that to him,” he said.
Buba explained that though some disadvantages of the e-voting where listed by its critics, its advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
“People were confident and they came out to vote, unlike in the past when whomsoever a governor wants is announced winner.
” For the first time in Kaduna the opposition won four local government areas,” he said.
Speaking further, he pointed out that from records of recent LGA polls in other states, PDP won all the councils in states where they govern and APC swept all the councils in states where they hold sway, making Kaduna a unique model.
“As a plus and a big win for democracy, the Kaduna example now poses a challenge to some other states,” he said.
