No fewer than ten thousand supporters were on ground as Chairman and CEO of Kada City FC, Mr. Ekene Abubakar Adams dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
He officially registered at his ward, Romi/Ungwan Yelwa in Kaduna State, where he was received by ward and Chikun Local Government Area officials of the party.
Welcoming him to the party, Romi/Ungwan Yelwa Ward, chairman, Yusuf Musa said that the party is positioned to free Nigerians from decades of misrule.
APGA Kaduna State Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim Rahama at the state Secretariat, in his welcome address, said that by God’s grace Ekene Abubakar Adams will triumph in the 2019 polls.
He said the party does not promote tribal or religious sentiments.
He said the state executives will give him 100 per cent support in his quest to emerge the representative of Chikun/Kajuru.
Chikun LGA Chairman of the party, Idris Adamu said that they were impressed by the reception and would stand firm to unseat incumbent member representing the constituency.
Addressing his thousands of supporters, Ekene Adams said that he was overwhelmed by the turn out.
He said he was joining the party with 10,000 supporters.
“You can see APC, PDP and other parties supporters here all because of me. Go and dust your PVCs I am telling you that with your support and prayers, we would do better. My joining APGA at this moment is not a mistake. You can see the youth here, the youth that want change.
In an interview with newsmen, he said that the party made the right move by picking him.
“For 16 good years, my people in Kajuru/Chikun have not seen the dividends of democracy. Whatever belongs to them, I promise them they will not be shortchanged,” he said.
When asked on how he would impact on sports if he emerges as House Member, he said much should be expected.
” In terms of sports, I am proud to say I have given more than 8,000 youth jobs through sports even without being in the House of Representatives, when I win, several more jobs would be created through sports,” he assured.
