A rghts Aactivisit, Prince Harrison, leader of Behind Bars Initiative is seriously confused as the Police on Tuesday gunned down a suspected armed robber, Ifunayan allegedly linked to him.
The Police also recovered a locally made gun and two live cartridges from the deceased suspect.
It was learnt that the suspect fell to the superior fire power of the Police after engaging the Police in a shoot out.
He died on the way while he was being rushed to the hospital for medical treatments.
The Police also arrested other members of the criminal gang who specialize in snatching of cars across the state.
They had stolen High Lander and Honda Pilot cars within Eboh and Airport roads in Warri.
During the operation, a member of the criminal gang, Ochuko Kelly shot a vigilante and dispossessed him of his four thousand Naira before they were trailed and arrested.
Our correspondent reports that the suspects have all confessed to the crime.
One of the suspects, Desmond Mogbolu who is also an alleged fraudster said he sowed seeds in his church after defrauding a victim the sum of six hundred and seven thousand Naira.
Mogbolu who goes by the Criminal name”Desmond Freeborn” said he became a fraudster and an armed robber because he lost his job.
Mogbolu however noted that the rights activist does not know he is a fraudster.
Another member of the criminal gang simply identified as Otome also admitted to have committed the crime with his accomplices.
At the time of filing this report, investigation was ongoing at the Police Station.
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa, said, “confirmed, yes the story is confirmed.”
