Team Police put up brilliant performances and won a double this December after claiming the One Service One Medal (OSOM) 2018 soccer gold, days after they also won the soccer gold at the Ministry of Interior (MIGA) Games.
Soccer coach of the team, Inspector Gambo Shanding left no one in doubt that his team deserved the double as a result of spectacular performance displayed in both competitions, a clear signal to others demonstrating that either of the wins was no fluke.
Inspector Standing who is just 42 years old, also helped Team Police to win the 2017 edition of the OSOM soccer gold.
He came into limelight in 2012, when he won an invitational tournament. Same year, his team represented Kaduna State in the FA Cup after a brilliant performance in the state FA Competition.
He gained promotion to the Nigeria National League in 2014 with Boro United FC of Kaduna.
Inspector Gambo Shanding is not just a certified football coach, he also boasts academic qualifications, that make him stand out among his peers.
He has a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD), in Mass Communication from the Kaduna State University (KASU).
Prior to that, he is a graduate of Mass Communication from Kaduna Polytechnic (KADPOLY), where he earned a HND Certificate.
In terms of football coaching, he has attended several courses, from where he boasts of professional coaching certificates.
They include; CAF ‘C’ Licence Coach, Advanced Certificate in Coaching Football from the National Institute of Sports (NIS) Lagos, La Liga/NPFL U/15 Coaching Course Abuja and Coerver Youth Diploma 1 Coaching Course Abuja, among others.
The family man is happily married and blessed with beautiful children.
