Volleyball World Cup Qualifiers: 25 Female Players Camp In Abuja

Twenty five female volleyball players drawn from states, military, paramilitary and clubs in Nigeria have commenced camping in Abuja in preparation for women world cup qualifiers in Abidjan, Cote D’ivore.

This was disclosed in a statement jointly signed by the Secretary General of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Adamu Maikano and Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee Kehinde Lamidi.

According to the statement, the players who will be under the tutelage of a former National captain, coach Usman Abdalah & Gloria Ret are in high spirit exhibiting the stuff they are made of in their first day training at the indoor sports hall of Abuja national stadium.

Addressing the athletes & coaches,the president of the Nigeria volleyball Federation, Eng Musa Nimrod welcomed them into the camp & charged them to put up their best to be selected to represent the Nation well at d world cup qualifiers in Abidjan.

He further reiterated the commitment of the present board to take the game to another levels stressing that the open trials held in Kaduna has put an end to a situation whereby players are invited to the national camp by proxy.

The  statement informed that the technical & marketing committees of the federation have put all necessary machineries in place to ensure a successful camping and outing in Abidjan.

Meanwhile, the promotion examinations for the Nigerian volleyball referees are ongoing in Abuja.

The exercise which attracted participants from all over Nigeria aimed at grading the referees that be officiating at all the volleyball tournaments at the national,continental & international levels.
