In an unexpected outcome, Nigeria’s Super Eagles proved football pundits wrong as they went all out and beat highly rated Argentina by 4-2.
The international friendly football match which was played in Russia on Tuesday, saw the Nigerian players conceding two quick goals in the 27th and 36th minutes by Banega and Aguero before Kelechi Iheanacho and Akex Iwobi made it 2-2 in the 44th and 52th minutes of the match
Even though the Argentines had more ball possession and intimidating stats, was in the 64 minute Nigeria’s Idowu slotted the third and Iwobi once again made it four and his second of the night.
Meanwhile, Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero was rushed to a local hospital in Krasnodar after he fainted in Argentina’s dressing room during half-time of Tuesday’s friendly with Nigeria, local media reported.
Aguero, who scored the winner in Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Russia on Saturday, netted his team’s second goal against Nigeria in the 36th minute in Krasnodar before he was replaced at the break.
