Job Creation: CBO’s Trains 280 Jigawa Youths On ICT

In line with federal government policy on job creation and economic diversification, Community Based Organization (CBO), “Hadejia Ina Mafita” Initiative in partnership with an international technology company, Huawei Technologies have trained  280 youths on different ICT expertise and skills in Hadejia Emirate of Jigawa State.

The training which lasted for two weeks was  designed to inculcate the spirit of innovation, creativity and self reliance among youths including ladies and persons living with disabilities in the area.

Speaking at closing ceremony of the training, Chairman of the Hadejia Ina Mafita, Alhaji Isa Billami said the beneficiaries of the training were selected from across the towns and villages under the emirate and they all demonstrated a keen interest with didication during the training period.

“It is a priority of the organization to intervene in the fields of Agriculture, Education, environment, social services, peace,Conflict resolution, economic empowerment and political stability with special attention for the development of the area.

In his remarks during the occasion, the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje who was the royal father of the day, commended the CBO and the Chinese Company who initiated and funded the training.

He said the training would help in reducing unemployed youth in the society and contribute towards the economic sustainability of the area and state in general.

The Deputy Managing Director of Huawei Technologies, Mr. Pan Haiyang said such partnership was part of the cooperate responsibility of the company to push the frontiers of digital and information technology expertise among youth, who could help revamp the economy through sustaining themselves and employing others.

The beneficiaries were trained in the area of Areas of  Information and Communication Technology, GSM Repairs, Shoe Making, Borehole Drilling, Fish Farming and cosmetics and makeup.
