2 Policemen, One NSCDC Personnel, Arrested Over Abduction Of Soothsayer In Jigawa

The Jigawa Police Command has said that two of its personnel are under interrogation with one personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and one civilian over alleged abduction of a soothsayer who makes fake money.

The command’s sookesman, DSP Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed this to newsmen in Dutse on Thursday.

Jinjiri said that the suspects (names withheld), were arrested in Hadejia local government area of the state after they allegedly abducted the victim, Malam Ahmad Muhammad, popularly known as “Akarami”.

He explained that the suspects allegedly conspired and abducted the victim in a nearby hamlet where he was kept in a hut with a sole aim to produces money for them, after they learnt that he (Akarami) produces fake money.

This medium learned that, the abductee was reported to the Policemen about the illegal business Mr. Ahmad embarked upon, instead for them to arrest him and take him to the Police station, but they decided to took him away to make money for them in an isolated location.

“On December 26, we received a report at Hadejia division that two policemen, one Personnel  of NSCDC and one civilian allegedly conspired and abducted one Malam Ahmad Muhammad at his residence in Mahucin Sarkin quarters, Hadejia town.

“They kept the captive for one day insisting that he most produce money for them.

“This is unprofessional, as they were supposed to take him to station for interrogation but they decided to keep him with them,” the spokesman lamented.

According to him, investigation into the case is ongoing, saying that “they will be charged to court as long as they are through with investigation.
