The constant bonding of Christian and Muslim youths in Kaduna metropolis through constant sponsorship of friendly matches has consolidated upon the peaceful coexistence being experienced in the city, President, Kaduna Youth for Peace and Reconciliation Initiative, Alhaji Kabiru Danladi, Marafan Gonin-Gora has said.
He stated this when commenting on his contributions to sports development that warranted an award of excellence from the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) Kada Webs Badminton Club on Sunday.
Marafan Gonin-Gora said that his group which is poised at ensuring peaceful co-existence, brings youths from Muslim dominated areas to Christian dominated areas to engage in positive rivalry through soccer.
“By so doing, we are bonding the youths and enhancing friendliness between the two major religions in the state.
“If you can recall before now, it was a bit difficult to see youths of different religion visiting areas dominated by the other religion but now the case is quite different,” the President, who is also the Sarkin Yakin Sabon Gari Igabi said.
He explained that most of their competitions are held during festivities like Sallah, Christmas and other public holidays.
According to him, such matches are played in Kaduna metropolis, Ikara LGA, and other big cities in Kaduna State.
“As you can see, there is no more religious violence in the state. We have made both religions see that they are brothers and the need to live together, he said.
As a result of his positive contributions to society, Alhaji Danladi is also a traditional title holder from Tudun Wada Community where he was turbaned, the Walin Tudun Wada.
