First City Monument Bank (FCMC) and Fidelity Bank have qualified for the final of the 8th edition of Kaduna Corporate League Cup after they dismissed their opponents at the Ahamdu Bello Stadium in the semi-finals played at the weekend.
In the first semi-final, FCMB defeated Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) by a lone goal, which came from a 30metres free-kick well taken by Friday Atama in the first half.
The second semi-final was a highly tensed match between last edition’s runners-up UBA and third placed team in the last edition of the tournament Fidelity Bank.
Fidelity Bank went ahead with a penalty scored by Mboli Friday in the 4th minute of the first half, UBA leveled through Onyeakachi Cyprian in the 46th minute.
UBA went ahead with a goal courtesy of Peter Daniel, while Friday Mboli got the equaliser for Fidelity which took the game into penalty shoot-out. Fidelity Bank scored 4 of their 5 shots, while UBA scored 2.

Unity Bank have won four of the last seven editions with Fidelity Bank winning two and Skye Bank winning once.
Finalists FCMB were 8th in the last edition of the tournament.
Speaking after losing to Fidelity Bank, the captain of UBA and last year’s Most Valuable Player Rapheal Etah said his side gave their all but lost to an equally good side. He commended the organisers for improving on organisation especially the making it a round-robin which gave the banks the opportunity to play each other thus, re emphasizing the objective of the tournament which is bringing about comradeship among staff of banks
The tournament is organised by Bestworth Insurance Brokers and supported by Wadson International and Bertway Sports International. The chief coordinator, Vincent Akinbami has promised a memorable final come June 11.
