The Governor of Kano State, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje has announced the demise of the leader of the Tijanniya Sect in Africa, Sheikh Isyaka Rabi’u.
He made the announcement in a statement signed by the Commissioner of Information Kano State, Malam Muhammad Garba.
“With deep sense of gratitude and total submission to the will of Allah, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, hereby announces the death of the Leader of Tijjaniyya Sect in Africa, Khadimul Qur’an, Sheikh Isyaka Rabi’u.
“Sheikh Isyaka Rabi’u passed away today at a London hospital in the United Kingdom at the age of 93 after a protracted illness.
“Details of funeral prayer for the deceased will be announced later,” it stated.
According to the statement, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje seized the opportunity to condole the family of the deceased and the entire Muslim communities in Nigeria and beyond.
“May Allah grant his soul eternal peace and Jannatul Firdaus be his ever lasting abode,” it added.
