Lagos based business mogul and philanthropist, Mr. Mani Robson has advised the political class across board in Cross River State to put aside party alignment and join hands together to build and move the state forward.
He said this when he paid a visit to the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Calabar the state capital.
” My visit here is based on several consultations that I have done with opinion leaders from different political divides. I will like to say that this state has always been at the forefront of good governance in Nigeria. The state has evolved right from the first (and) second republic”
Speaking further, Mr. Robson congratulated politicians in the state, in particular members of the APC for conducting themselves in an orderly and gentle manner in such a way that it has not hindered the peaceful nature the state is known for.
He said his visit was to meet with stakeholders of the party in the state in order to see how he can become a part of the political progress being experienced in the state.
Mr. Robson encouraged the party faithfuls to mend fences with every aggrieved party members in the state and work together. He emphasized on the need for politicians to care more of the general interest of the state rather than their own personal interest.
He also encouraged them to always endeavour to put their eyes on the ball. Maintaining that as a successful business man that is one secret that has helped him.
“If you want to see another successful political dispensation of the APC, if you want to see Cross River State as a one of e most successful states in Nigeria, we must all be united. When I though of coming to visit the leadership of this party (APC) in the state. I stated clearly that I didn’t want to walk into a divided house. Even before this meeting I had a private meeting with the exco and what I heard from them has greatly calm me down”
Speaking separately, chairman of the party in the state, Mr. Etim John who was represented by the deputy state chairman Mr. Martin Achadu and state secretary of the party, Chief Francis Ekpenyong, expressed delight at the visit.
They maintained that the ultimate goal of the APC in the state was the government house Calabar. Promising that they will heed to his advise by working hard to ensure all aggrieved members are brought into one fold.
