A group under the auspuces of the Buhari Solidarity Movement (BSM) on Saturday stated that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and some retired generals recent agitations for a Coalition of Political Parties against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) should be given a “Nuisance Value”.
BSM National Coordinator, Chief Ovo Ofigo made the assertion in a statement signed and made available to AUTHENTIC News Daily
Ofigo who was reacting to the herdsmen and farmers clashes across the country described the views expressed by the retired generals as “rather very unfortunate.”
The APC Chieftain noted that,”Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has some good qualities notwithstanding emphasized however that,”his recent agitation for a coalition of political parties against the APC should be given a Nuisance value”.
“To some of the generals who castigated the President, their views were parochial and a clarion call for anarchy. They should all work with the President for a better Nigeria.
Ofigo who was former National Treasurer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP argued that the wanton killings of Nigerians is not directed at Benue, Taraba, Plateau and Kaduna States alone.
Ofigo also advised APC members who are bent on distabilizing the party as well as defecting to other parties to ” Please look before you leap.”
He maintained that come 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari will emerge victorious at the polls. “The dice is cast. History will soon be made in 2019.”
While pointing out that President Muhammadu Buhari may not be a saint, Ofigo advised Nigerians to compare his positive achievements with negatives and come to an objective conclusion.
“The Anti-Corruption drive of the President is.unprecedented in the history of Nigeria. Other achievements are also noticeable in other spheres of the Buhari Administration.”
Ofigo pointed out that,” There has been wanton destruction of lives and properties in Zamfara, Sokoto and even Katsina States, the home of the President. “
Ofigo stated that with the killings in Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto States, it is crystal clear that the attacks have no semblance of ethnic cleansing.
Ofigo also called on the people of Benue, Taraba and Plateau States to have a “rethink” and work for the progress of Nigeria by voting for President Buhari in 2019.
“Senator Akume, my friend of yester years is enjoined to continue with his leadership qualities and deliver Benue to APC.
