Former Caretaker Chairman of Kaduna South Local Government Council, Yahaya Shinko has said that the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai is to be blamed for their dumping of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He expressed this, while reacting to insinuations that some are capitalising on President Muhammadu Buhari’s perceived popularity to blackmail them on Wednesday.
“After we earlier complaint that the erstwhile National Chairman of the APC Chief Oyegun and some of the APC State Governors were randomly drifting the Party there was no redress at all and now the same Governors that are suppose to take and share the blame are only leveraging on Buhari’s popularity to blackmail us by telling the world that our decision of dumping the APC is because we don’t like the PMB.
“In Kaduna State in particular, lest we forget, simply because the Governor doesn’t need us any longer in the APC he declared to send us into political retirement, not even out of the APC alone, and now that we parted way with him I think a mind of reasoning shall not blame our action but as helping the Governor to accomplish his intention and therefore if we have committed any offence by decamping from the APC, the Governor is to be blamed and the PMB should not be brought into the saga,” Shinko said.
It would be recalled that Shinko belongs to the Akida faction of the Kaduna State APC which recently, alongside the Restoration Group dumped the ruling party at a well publicised press briefing recently.
