Senate President and Chairman of the National Assembly, Dr. Abubakar Bukoka Saraki as at the moment is without a political party as he announced quitting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Though Saraki hinted he would be joining his former party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he is yet to do so as at time of filing this report, so he remains party less.
Saraki, had last week on the floor of the Senate, announced the defection of 14 Senators from the APC to the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He announced his decision on Tuesday July 31, 2018 via his Twitter handle at exactly 5:59pm.
“I wish to inform Nigerians that, after extensive consultations, I have decided to take my leave of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he said.
It is uncertain how the polity will be in days to come, even though the Senate is on a long recess.
