You Can’t Achieve Success In Sports Through Shortcut, Dalung Says As National Youth Games Opens

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung, has told athletes to shun shortcut and embrace hard work in achieving  success in sports.
He stated this while declaring the 4th edition of the National Youth Games open in Ilorin on Monday, while stressing that there was no shortcut to success.
Dalung said that the National Youth Games has produced several talents since first edition in Abuja in 2014.
“There is no short cut to success. Athletes who excel did that through hard work athletes who took short fut have been disgrace to family and country. Avoid the use of drugs,” he cautioned.
Dalung said that the major policy thrust of this administration is empowerment of youth to maximise their potentials.
He said that games which was opened at the University of Ilorin on Monday, September 10, 2018,   provides level playing field for athletes below 15 years
He added that the games a good ground for nurturing national youth.
He said it has been possible through the creating of enabling environment by President Muhammad Buhari.
“Emboldened by the support of Mr. President, the team is working hard to enriching sports through deliberate policies.
