Two suspected armed robbers have been reported dead as member of their gang escaped with serious wounds in his hand after an exchange of gun fire with men of the Nigeria Police Force”A” Division on Saturday September 29 at about 8:30pm at Old Welfare Street near Igbudu Market in Warri, Delta State.
It was learnt that one of the deceased suspects who sustained injuries later give up the ghost on Sunday morning at an undisclosed hospital as a result of gun shot wounds sustained as a result of the fire power of the Police.
The deceased suspects and their fleeing members were intercepted after they dispossessed one Mr. Uche of his money.
The suspects who used tricycle popularly known as Keke NAPEP to ride and robe people celebrating their Igbo Day in Warri.
Before the three-man gang was intercepted by the men of the Nigerian Police from A Division who came in to rescue the situation by tracing the robbers and saw them on Omenta road Warri where they where robbing one Mr Uche.
The gallant policemen of A Division finally get them at lower by Old Welfare junction. At the sighting of the gallant police officers, the robbers ran inside old welfare for escape but the policemen were smart enough to push the robbers and their tricycle inside a drainage which made them to fire first at the gallant policemen who later over powered the three-man gang.
In the process of gun fire, one of the robber who was identified by some good persons as one of the son of Mr, Alawuru
But the policemen. along Warri main garage which they used to fight the boys from their Criminal activities.
Mr. Uche, AUTHENTIC News Daily however learnt, quickly alerted the Police who were on routine patrol.
In the process, the Police trailed them but they engaged the Police in a serious shootout in the area.
During the exchange of gun fire the deceased suspects sustained serious injuries and while one of them also escaped with gun shot wounds in his hand
The Police also recovered a bag containing an unspecified amount of money inside the tricycle they used for their robber Operation.
Contacted, the Delta State Commissioner for Police,bCP Muhammad Mustafa only confirmed that two armed robbery suspects were arrested in the process of robbing one Mr. Uche.
According to CP Mustafa, “They used tricycle popularly called (Keke Napep) for the operation, and they were intercepted by the Police. But they are seriously injured and corrently are in the hospital.”
Main while some of the Igbo men and people celebrating the peaceful Igbo day regret the redeployment of CSP Eyoh Anietie from Warri, and plead with the CP Mustafa and the government of delta state including IG and federal government to help please return the calaba man to warri for his good work.
The people of Warri also pleaded for the return of CSP Ejoh so he can finish the building of the B Division.
Just few weeks ago, mob took laws into their hands when they burnt one robber alive. This week again, if not for the help of the Police from A Division, another one would have repeated itself.
