Zamfara Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Alhaji Bello Mohammed Matawalle has said that part of his mission to create job opportunities to the youths was to procure 15 million seedlings of coconut palm oil for plantation across the state.
Speaking to journalists in Zamfara, Matawalle said detailed blueprint on youths empowerment and business development to the people.
According to him, if elected as governor of the state, he would source for the coconut palm oil seedlings from Malaysia.
He said that, each local government would have one million seedlings for the programme.
Matawalle expressed concern over youths redundancy and high rate of unemployment in the state.
“We are concern with the rate of unemployment amongst our teeming youths, which we are determined to check appropriately”, he added.
He explained that, the idea of the coconut palm oil plantation programme was to checkmate political thuggery amongst youths.
” We have detailed blueprint to engage youths into various trades and agriculture through participation with substantial financial support”, he added.
He stressed, part of the mission, the exploration of abundant mineral resources in the different locations of the state.
“Zamfara state is blessed with abundant mineral resources, the PDP government if elected would invest heavily to harness it, with proper engagement of our youths”, he added. ENDs
