It would be recalled that series of agitations preceded the most recently organized one  in the  relentless pursuit of entitlements the workers have long been  denied of.

The aforementioned  challenge entails many  plights which are categorically too numerous to mention and place the workers in unimaginable conditions include; unpaid Salaries  which accumulated as back log of more than five years. Other due entitlements are; Salary differences emanating from non implementation of series of salary increments made by successive government’s, Gratuities, Allowances such as Housing, Leave Grants, etc and extremely important, the computation of pension and its inclusion in the entitlements both in Arrears and Buyout or wholesomely the latter.

Lamenting the myriads of problems which reduced the NNN workers to their knees, Malam Iliyasu Gambo, a unionist and a worker in his  responds  to newsmen    decried.

“It is is sad that our children cannot go to school because we cannot afford school fees, most of them are now dropouts. Our families are hunger stricken and the resultant food deficiencies rendered many to I’ll health which we don’t have the means to afford health needs. Consequent upon the said perils, many died of diverse protracted illness, not to mention those who could not withstand and committed suicide, numerous are handicapped by paralysis”

NNN workers are urgently seeking the attention of the NSGF to expedite action and rescue them from the perilous circumstances which demands the NSGF’ s order or instruction.

Earlier, the process of payment of the entitlements was hindered by court injunction restricting the payments owing to a legal suit, now withdrawn thus paving way for the payment to commence by liquidating few asset commensurate with the amount equivalent to the entitlements till date or  the month the payment would be made as earlier recommended by the NSGF. They plead that the due instruction and  order should be issued soonest being the only phase of the entire process left undone thus lingering their hardships..
