Locals in Kajuru Local Government Area have been cautioned against leaking sensitive information to bandits, as well as promoting false narratives to avoid truncating the peace being enjoyed in the area.
The warning was handed out in a communique from Town Hall Meeting held at GDSS Kasuwan Magani on Friday 9th August 2019, jointly signed by Toro Williams, Benjamin Yunana Maigari and Nuraddeen Tijjani, and made available to our correspondent on Sunday August 11, 2019.
Caution was drawn on persons who promote division through false narratives that are capable of jeopardizing the hard earned peace Kajuru now enjoys.
“It was resolved that locals should avoid leaking sensitive information to bandits.
“The second security meeting convened by Kajuru LGA Council and Management,” it stated.
Other resolutions agreed upon at the meeting includes, encouraging displaced persons to return home.
“Displaced persons were encouraged to go back and renovate their respective homes especially those in Kasuwan Magani as normalcy has been restored,” it said.
It further said that religious and traditional leaders were charged to continue preaching peace in all their gatherings.
“Kajuru Truth and reconciliation committee efforts was applauded.
“The security agencies efforts was appreciated however they were charged to step up efforts in intelligence gathering.
“Participants supported the efforts of KDSG in rebuilding Kasuwan Magani market and call for immediate commencement of the project,” it added.
Similarly, it was also resolved that locals should step up efforts in community policing.
The communique informed that the Kajuru Local Government Council donated a vehicle to Kajuru Youth Council.
Meanwhile, the meeting informed that donations are still welcome for the affected communities, especially fertilizer and building materials in all the resettled IDPs.
Participants agreed to meet occasionally to review the progress of implementation of the recommendations.
They assured that the 2020 Kajuru LGA budget approach will be community driven.
In attendance were some former Kajuru LGA chairmen, former Commissioners from Kajuru LG, the Emir of Kajuru, the District Head of Kufana and Kajuru, JNI, CAN LG council members, management staff, security agencies and other stakeholders.
