An Islamic Cleric, Malam Ibrahim Aliyu on Sunday urged Nigerians especially Muslims to embrace peace as well as be united with their Christian counter part for the Country to move forward saying,”Islam is peace all over the world”.

The Cleric made the call at the Igbudu Primary School prayer ground in commemoration of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Warri.

In a chat with Our Correspondent, Malam Aliyu noted that Islam is not a violent religion.

He also said there is no place in the holy Quran that encourages Muslim faithful to quarrel, kill or disturb the peace of their neighbours.

Malam Aliyu said, “All Muslims should embrace peace. Love one another. Try to be in good understanding with each other’s religion and make sure that all of us, we seek for  protection from God.”

The Etsu-Nupe of Warri and its environs, HRH. Alhaji Mohammed Zuberu Tajudeen also said Nigerians should be united.

According to Alhaji Tajudeen, “The Bible say, I am the Lord your God, that I am one. In the Quran, it is the same.

“As God is one, we should emulate the ways of God so that we can do well for each other and may Almighty Allah bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria, may he bless President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, give him long life to pilot the affairs of Delta State in a good way so that other people will emulate him. May Almighty Allah also bless our Commissioners.”

Speaking on the increasing activities of Boko Haram Sect, kidnappers, herdsmen and bandits, Alhaji Tajudeen said, “It is only God that has the power to do everything.

” Already, we have security men in thia Country and we cannot say they are not doing their jobs. But you see, the hardship in the Country causes some of the problems. We pray by the grace of God with this Sallah we’re doing today, all of us have prayed together so that God will see us through. So that, the bandits and the kidnappers, everybody will come to silence and we all live in peace.”

While thanking God Almighty for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Sarki Hausa of Warri and environs, Alhaji Mohammed Bello also appealed to Nigerians to live in peace all over the federation and in Delta State.

He said God is seeing all the havoc members of the Boko Haram sect and kidnappers are unleashing on the masses.

“What we are praying is that, Allah should change their mind to come back and let’s be together. We also pray that Allah accepts prayers, both Muslims and Christianity.
