The Exercise Atilogwu Udo and other exercises being embarked upon by the Nigerian Army nationwide are solely aimed at protecting the lives and property of innocent citizens and not targeted at any individuals or groups.

Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa expressed this in his welcome address at the Two-day Civil-Media-Military-Relations Summit For South East Zone at the Headquarters 82 Division Auditorium, Abakaliki Road, Enugu.

“The Exercise Atilogu 1 is not targeted at an individual or groups.

“These exercises are planned and executed with best interest of the public at heart,” he said.

“The Chief of Army Staff directed that members of the public are adequately informed on the activities of the Nigerian Army especially those of interest to members of the public. It is also in line with the Nigerian Army’s penchant for excellent Civil-Military relations.

He said he was honoured to welcome all to the summit, which is in line with the intention to create military media relationship, understanding and appreciation of the Nigerian Army exercises and operations across the various Geo-political zones of Nigeria.

Colonel Musa praised the media for its support, while calling for more support for several exercises ongoing across the country.

“you should not be deceived into giving undeserved publicity to criminals to discredit our collective efforts to secure the nation” he appealed.
