Niger SSG Commends Army, Others Over Solutions To Insecurity

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has commended the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for their doggedness and commitment to the finding lasting solutions to banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling in the State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Information Officer, SSG’s Office, Lawal Tanko.
Ahmed Ibrahim Matane made the commendation at the flagging off ceremony of Exercise AYEM APKATUMA II of the Nigerian Army held at the NSDC Suites, Minna.
The SSG further explained that the exercise which comprises the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is timely as it would compliment Government effort in tackling security challenges in four Local Government Areas of the State.
He expressed optimism that the combine operation would help in exterminating criminal elements and other forms of criminal activities in the State.
Earlier in his remarks, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Maj. Gen. Farouk Yahaya disclosed that Exercise AYEM APKATUMA II is a joint operation that would help check the threat of banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling.
Maj. Gen. commended the State Government for the continued support to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in their combined effort to rid the State of criminal activities.
