There was jubilation at earlier hours of Thursday  when a man, Mr. Obinna Boniface, 32, of Igidagu village, of Okpitumo Community in Abakaliki LGA Ebonyi State, was arrested by the youths of Egwudinagu village in Amachi of same council area for allegedly stolen a ram belonging to Mrs. Agnes John.
It was gathered that the man was caught right inside Nwanwu market in Egwudnagu village  around 9:00 pm with stolen ram when he was about to escape and was apprehended before given him beaten of his life by the enraged youth who interrogated him to make some confession as they claimed the popular junction has had several account of untraceable lost property.
However, Mr obinna Boniface told our reporter that he  is a wheel barrow -pusher and was coming  home from  Abakaliki  when he ran out of cash  and decided  going on foot, reaching to Egwudinagu popularly known as Nwanwu junction, he got tired  and he entered a closed shop in the market to take some rest ,it was then that a group of youth came and began to interrogate him,  thereby, forced him to take the said ram to their village assembly ground that he was a thief  and effort made to convince the youth proved abortive as they insisted he stole the ram and descended on him by flogging him with heavy stick for the whole night without food.
According to him, the ram was in group and he was forced to untie one out of them and follow the youths with it to the play ground where they unleash mayhem on him.
Mr. Obinna lamented how he was intimaded and forced to admit he stolen the ram coupled with the severe beating he received as an innocent person which he termed high handed injustice from the village youth.
 Meanwhile, a resident of the Area who did not want his name in print hinted us that he told Egwudinagu youth not to beat the young Obinna that he is mentally derainged  and never seen him steal, recalling that due to his lunacy he usually sleep by the road side.
When contacted the father of the victim Mr. Boniface, he frowned on the attitude of the youths of the area adding that his son Obinna is not a thief, rather, has mentally illness, and warned them to give his son proper treatment before it will cause crisis between the two villages.
