*says healthcare centre has potentials of attracting patients from all over Africa

In view of the state-of-the-art world class services and facilities available at the Ashmed Specialist Hospital Kaduna, the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Kaduna State has presented the Most Outstanding Hospital For The Year 2019 Award to the health centre.
The award presentation on Tuesday December 17, 2019, at the hospital’s premises in Agwa Community, was witnessed by several traditional rulers and other dignitaries.
In his remarks, Convener of the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations in Kaduna State, Comrade Zubairu Mukhtar A. (Yariman Santurakin Makera-Zazzau) said that they were proud of the facility because it would attract several patients from all over Nigeria and other African countries.
“This is indeed a memorable tour as we have seen what is unique in the whole of Kaduna State as far as private hospitals are concerned.
“Modern hospital equipments are what we have seen in all the clinical departments with modern infrastructural structures enough to make a sick get healed as the atmosphere is serene. In terms of manpower we have also seen qualified, hardworking and resilient staff which is an indication of a focused and determined management. We say keep this up,” he said.
He explained that the award of the “Most Outstanding Hospital for the year 2019” is presented, “to this great hospital after rigorous screening ranging from interview of patients, physical assessment, community interview, online interview of members of the hospitals social media page to mention but a few.
“The award would not be complete without appreciating and commending the pillar of this hospital in person of Dr Audu Musa Idowu for his giant strides, focus and vision which have gotten this hospital to where it has gotten to today,” he added.
Comrade Mukhtar said that they were also there to appreciate the Chairman of the Hospital, in person of Dr. Audu Musa Idowu whose vision for service to humanity, quality health care and putting smile on the faces of the less privilege is his watch ward.
“This is rare in our today’s society to find a private hospital that is people oriented and renders Medical Social Welfare as found in some Government Hospitals only.
“Today we want to call on all and sundry to come and see for themselves quality service delivery in Ashmed Specialist Hospital as is obtainable in developed countries. I must say my team and I are very impressed by the ongoing project of the construction of a CT Scan and MRI centre, this is going to be a record breaking project ever in the history of Private Health Services in Kaduna State. May Almighty Allah make this project a success,” he stressed.
Speaking further, he said, “I want to say we at the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Kaduna State are proud to be associated with Dr Audu Musa Idowu and Ashmed Specialist Hospital.
“We shall take the gospel of what we have seen today to the Government of Kaduna State and the good people of Kaduna State that we no longer have to travel out of Kaduna State or the country to get medical attention as Ashmed Specialist Hospital has all it takes.
“I would like to on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Executives and members of Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Kaduna State congratulate Dr Audu Musa Idowu and Ashmed Hospital for this memorable award. May Almighty Allah grant you the wisdom to carry out all you have set to achieve,” he said.
He added, “This award today is the little we can use to appreciate you, accept it as a token from us as we are optimistic this would spur you to do more.
“I want to appreciate our mentor His Excellency Mal Nasiru Ahmad el-Rufai for the opportunity given to the youth of Kaduna State to move Kaduna to the Next Level.
“His vision for quality health care delivery is what I see in Ashmed Specialist Hospital today,” he said.
Receiving the award on behalf of Dr. Audu Musa Idowu and Ashmed Specialist Hospital Kaduna, wife of the chairman, Hajiya Maryam Hassan Audu said that she appreciates Coalition of Kaduna CSOs for the gesture.
She said her husband has a passion for health and that what patients loof for at India, England and abroad can be sought in Kaduna.
Also speaking, Chief Medical Director (CMD), of the hospital, Dr. Echobu Patrick said it is a rare privilege to get the award.
He said it is just the beginning and the award will spur them on to do more.
“People should not be scared by our state-of-the-art facilities and gigantic edifice. Patients Card is just N500 and consultation fees is N1,000.
“We are not scaring away people with structure and equipment but are committed to ensuring quality healthcare services,” he assured.
In his remarks, a Royal father, District Head of Makera, Alhaji Shehu Tijjani said that the award was well deserved.
He said the coalition is credible and must have done research before giving the award.
“Health is wealth. We are very happy that by the time you come here you get everything you need.
“We have gone round and the rooms are comfortable and the patient feels at home. There is food for different special conditions in the hospital. Even those that are not sick, may want to come here and relax for the weekend,” he declared.
Elder Hassan Nuhu Community Leader, said the hospital built in Agwa Community offers world class services to members of community and humanity.
“This stands out as one of the best in Kaduna State. They give us privilege of discount which is not usually obtainable in private practice,” he disclosed.
Other top dignitaries spotted at the award presentation were District Head of Gwagwada in Chikun Local Government Area, Alhaji Shittu Abdullahi and the Sarkin Kudenda in Kaduna metropolis, Gabriel Galadima
It was gathered that the hospital has a 50 capacity bed space and runs all consultancy and other services completely online.
