*prices of items remain stable

Few hours to Christmas, thousands of shoppers have been spotted, battling to find their ways into the Sabon Tasha Central Market in Kaduna metropolis to purchase things needed to celebrate the Yuletide.
This is in spite of the complaints of harsh economic conditions many have been singing.
A visit to the market on Monday, shows gaining entrance into the market requires some muscles as several shoppers are trying to gain access at the same time.
The traders, obviously enjoying the seasonal gains, were seen attending to so many customers, with most frequently restocking their stalls.
During a survey by our correspondent, a bag of foreign rice was being sold for N23,000, while the 25kg bag went for between N10,00 to N11,000 depending on the bargaining power of the shopper.
A bottle of vegetable oil was pegged at N400, while palm oil sold for N350.
At the groceries section, interestingly, a basket of tomatoes which was sold for between N6,000 to N7,000 in November was sold for between N5,000 to N6,000.
