Supreme Court

By KATO P. LADAN, Kaduna

Angry reactions have followed the Tuesday Supreme Court verdict which declared Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the 2019 gubernatorial polls in Imo State.

Several commentators took to their social media pages to express disappointment with the verdict, which they feel was not rational.

AUTHENTIC News Daily gathered that a youth leader and social commentator, Usman Okai Austin took to his Facebook page to query the modality of the Supreme Court’s verdict.
“2019 governorship election in Imo State Party Candidates Votes
PDP: Ihedioha Emeka = 273,404
AA: Uche Nwosu = 190,364
APGA: Ifeanyi Ararume = 114,676
APC: Hope Uzodinma = 96,458
YPP: Ikedi Ohakim 527
How come Supreme Court now declared APC as the winner?” He queried.

Another Nigerian, David Dimgba on his Facebook page, described the Supreme Court verdict as shameful.

“Imagine oh..
The 2019 Imo state Gubernatorial election results:

PDP: Emeka Ihedioha 273,404
AA : Uche Nwosu 190,364
APGA: Ifeanyi Araraume 114,676
APC: Hope Uzodinma 96,458
YPP: Ikedi Ohakim 527.

How the hell did No. 4 emerged as Governor?

Don’t tell me about that Mbaka prophecy cus it was used it as a smoke screen for this sham judgem

What exactly will I tell my children about Nigeria, under APC and a Judiciary under Tanko Mohammed.

Should I tell my child that once he/she takes 4th position in any contest he or she is a winner and should take the trophy in sight by all means?

Shame shame. Shame,” he said.

It would be recalled that Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka in his 2020 prophecies, had said, Senator Uzodinma of the APC would be declared winner.

Some other critics however, accused Mbaka of being used by the ruling APC ahead of the Supreme Court verdict, to have a claim on legitimacy.
