Group Rescues JSS 2 Kidnap Victim In Delta

A JSS 2 student of Central Epie Modern Secondary School, simply identified as Samson Amawini was reportedly rescued from the hands of suspected kidnappers in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Master Samson, a 12-yr old teenager was rescued by the Ijaw Pressure Group (IPG) on Saturday January 25. In Udu.

It was learnt that  ”Master Samson Amawini was handed over to his mother, Mrs Amawini Soudoubugha during a Get-together organized by the Burutu Local Government Unstoppable Force in Warri.

Sources said that, “little teenager ‘Master Samson’ was seen being dragged along the Udu Expressway by his kidnappers on their way to an unknown destination. Only God knows what would have happened to him”.

“He was kidnapped at Aleibiri, in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State

The Chairman of the group, (IPG) Comrade Tarete Austin in a chat with our correspondent explained that, “the manner with which the teenager was been dragged by the men raised my curiosity, which led to l and my team members to accost them (the kidnappers).

”When approaching the men (kidnappers) for interrogation, little Samson raised alam that *he is been kidnapped* which caused his kidnappers to escape.

“The 12-yr old Samson, provided contact information of his mother who confirmed that, her son has been missing since Friday and they have been on the search for him.

“The Teenage was handed over to his mother, Mrs Amawini Soudoubugha at the Get-together organized by the Pressure group in warri”. Comrade Tarete Austin said.

The National President of ljaw People Development Initiative (IPDI) Comrade Austin Ozobo ‘comfirmed’ the report.

He said, “yes, is it true, the 12yr old teenager was kidnapped in Aleibiri in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, and he was rescued in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State”.

Meanwhile, an Ijaw Youths Council chieftain and Director General of Wives International, Mrs Tonbra Kasikoro-Kilopirite awarded the kidnap victim a scholarship throughout secondary school under her NGO.

The one-time Women Leader of IYC Western Zone said, ”l condemned the act of kidnapping and the same time commend the victim for his courage to speak out in the middle of the whole scenario without fear”.

The Burutu Local Government Unstoppable Force is a pressure group with the objective of searching for good governance in Burutu.

When contacted for comments, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Onome Onovwakpoyeya said, “l have called the DPO there, no such thing was reported.

“The DPO said, during the week, a case of a 19yr old girl was reported missing, but was later seen. The girl they said is mental, that was during the week, but not at the weekend”. PPRO Onome Onovwakpoyeya added.
