The Federal Government has been asked to develop a means of ensuring citizens participation in securing lives and properties of Nigerians without being victimized .
Hon. Ari Muhammad Abdulmumini, Member Representing Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency of Nasarawa State made the plea while speaking to pressmen at the National Assembly Complex Abuja.
He also asked the Federal Government to develop new ways of making Nigerians safe
According to the lawmaker, Nigerians are afraid of going to security operatives and agencies with valuable information about the whereabouts of terrorists and criminals elements in the society because they are afraid that after such information has been given to the security agents, their identities may be exposed and the criminals may come after them .
Hon. Abdulmumini also stated that members of the House Of Representatives are very much worried about the growing spate of violence in the country .
He further stressed that the House has made several recommendations to the Executive Arm on how to tackle the insecurity challenges plaguing the country .
“the security challenges facing the country is a major source of worry to us , member of the House of Representatives.
We sympathize with everyone that has been in one way or the other affected by it.”
