NDA Golf Club Hosts Kitty In Honour Of Departing Provost

An 18 – hole Golf Kitty in honour of the outgoing Academy Provost, Professor Azubuike Sunny Nwankwo, was held Saturday at the NDA Golf Club, Ribadu Cantonment.

The event marks the end of events organized in honour of the outgoing Provost whose 5 – year tenure comes to a close.

The Golf Kitty saw a number of seasoned golfers jostling for superiority.

In the end, Andrew Chechet of Kaduna Golf Club emerged the overall winner of the tourney, after returning with 64 net to clinch the coveted first position.

He was closely followed by MS Abdullahi of NDA Golf Club, returning with 65 net to emerge second, while Phillip Hussain, having returned with 66 net placed 3rd.

The gueat of honour for the event, the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Kaduna State, Prof Kabir Mato in his remarks urged everybody to engage in the game of golf, which he described as the “gentleman game”.

He congratulated Professor Nwankwo for successful service to the NDA.

Also giving his remarks at the event, the Deputy Commandant NDA, Air Vice Marshal IT Ali, further encouraged the playing of golf as a means of excerise, noting that it could improve efficiency and enhance the chance of a healthy living in old age.

He also wished Prof Nwankwo all the best in his future endeavors.

Professor AS Nwankwo, whose knowledge, experience and skills have positively impacted on the Academy over the past 5 years, is not only an educationalist but also an active golfer.

He leaves behind a legacy of sustainable academic growth at the Academy.
