Sponsoring WAEC, NECO Fees For 60 Students: Afaka Community Thanks Kaduna Deputy Speaker

The Afaka Community (TAC) has commended the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani for sponsoring the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) registration fees of 60 indigent students within the community.

They expressed this at a world press conference, held on Sunday February 9, 2029 at the Skills Acquisition Centre located within the community.

In the text of the briefing, jointly signed by its Chairman, Tanimu Magaji JP and General Secretary, Tasiu Musa, the group called on other public spirited individuals and political appointees to emulate same.

“On behalf of The Afaka Community,we wish to extend our appreciation and thanks to Rt. Hon Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, Member Representing the good people of Igabi West and the Deputy Speaker Kaduna State House of Assembly for his noble gesture by sponsoring 60 Less- privileged students within Afaka Community to pay their West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) registration fees. We humbly acknowledge and appreciate this gesture.

“We at Afaka know that there has never been a constituency allowance for such a project, but RT. HON YUSUF ZAILANI took it upon himself to sponsor our children, brothers and sisters to write their O level final exams,” they said.

The group informed that the community initiated a refresher course training for their brothers and sisters who are less privileged and orphans, who find it difficult to pay for their O Level final examinations due to financial constraints and become redundant/ school dropouts in order to refresh their memories free of charge to be able to write and achieve their goals.

“Some students had lost hope due to their long stay at home before the commencement of THE AFAKA COMMUNITY (TAC) Refresher course programme.

“In the course of the programme, the community finds it necessary to look for sponsors in order to support the students to achieve their goals.

“Our first contact was the Deputy Speaker and he promised to take care of the examination bills and today, he has fulfilled his promise,” they said.

The Afaka Community expressed its appreciation to Alhaji Muazu Muhammad Ruma, Tafidan Afaka for his overwhelming support to the community, and also we will forever be grateful to the following sons and leaders of our community;

Alh. Sani Musa Umar, Village Head of Mando Afaka, Hon. Auwal S. Muhammad, Councilor Afaka Ward, Alh Salisu A. Suleiman, Former Sole administrator Rigasa Development Area, Alh. Suleiman Garba Afaka, Chief Kelvin Ukeagbu, First PTA Chairman, GJSS Sabon Afaka, Alh. Ali Madaki, Chairman Orphans Scholarship Committee and Malam Rabiu R. Raji.

Others they appreciated are Prof. Ismail Umaru, Chairman Orphans Scholarship Screening Committee, Dr Sani Musa, Chairman TAC Health Committee, Mohammed Kabir Suleiman, Coordinator Refresher Course, Ismail Yahaya, Volunteer Lecturer Refresher, Jamilu Zakari, Volunteer Lecturer Refresher Course, Malam Usman Danjuma, Volunteer Lecturer from Federal Collage of Forestry and Mechanization, Afaka and Malam Ismail, Volunteer Lecturer from KEDCO.

The Afaka Community TAC said it will also forever remain grateful for the cordial relationship and support from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Department of Security Services Training School Afaka.

The Afaka Community used this medium to thank the Executive Chairman Igabi Local Government, Hon. Jabir Khamis Rigasa for the construction of 4.6km road at mahuta, and also appealed to him to put more supervision measures as the work has been abandoned by the contractor.

In addition the community reminded the Executive Chairman Igabi Local Government for the pledge he made to provide land to the community to build Permanent site for Adult Education, Orphans School and Refresher Course Classes at Mando new layout we are still waiting as the community is ever ready to commence the project.

“The Afaka Community TAC will also like to use this medium to thank the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-ufai for the just concluded renovation and building of additional classes at Government Secondary School S/ Afaka and also the ongoing roads constructions of 8.6km from Ifira to Riyawa .We pray to Allah to protect and guide you throughout your tenure.

“We also appeal to the state government to renovate our dilapidated primary school with over 15,000 pupils sitting on the bare floor and open roof.

“With the recent review and redesign of Kaduna metropolitan city its said mando Sabon Afaka is considered as part of Kaduna metropolitan city but yet our Roads are left in an extremes bad condition, with minimum of 20 kilometres roads we will be second Dubai in Nigeria, as we are marked as a peace loving community by government and foreign bodies living with different tribes and religions peacefully,” they added.
