President Beach Volleyball Competition: MSazaam Of Kaduna Beat Gallant Of Abuja To Win

After three days of action, MSazaam Team, Kaduna have emerged champions of the President Beach Volleyball Senior Male category, 2020 edition after overpowering Gallant of Abuja.

They beat their opponents in a tension filled final match played at the newly refurbished Beach Volleyball Court at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Saturday night.

With the outcome, Gallant of Abuja settled for the silver trophy at the epic final, watched by several dignitaries, including Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, represented by the Director of Sports, Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim.

Hard fighting Team Rivers registered their presence on the podium as they finished third to claim a golden bronze medal away to Port Harcourt, capital city of Treasure Base of the Nation.

In the senior female category, a well motivated Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Team emerged the golden side.

They beat an equally good side, Sword of Benue who got a consolation silver trophy that is expected to be celebrated by Governor Samuel Orton when they touch down on the Food Basket State.

Governor Yahaya Bello’s Kogi Spikers will not depart for the Confluence State empty handed as their efforts saw them claim the bronze trophy in that category.

In the U-19 male category, Ortom Boys, Team Benue won the coveted gold medal, with which they intend to light up the streets of Makurdi on their return home.

They stole the show from Team Anistea, who put up a good fight to claim the Silver.

Home boys, Team Kada did not host to lose as their hospitality paid off with the bronze trophy.

Again, Ortom girls showed up on the podium to claim the U-19 female gold trophy as Sword of Benue were crowned female champions in that category.

The North Central dominated spotlight in that category as Team Kogi claimed the silver, with which Lokoja will jubilate on their return.

The North East finally made podium appearance, with Team Gombe’s emergence as bronze medalists in that category.

The athletes which arrived Kaduna from all over Nigeria, representing 22 teams were treated to the hospitality of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) President, Engineer Musa Nimrod as they partied all night to unwind before their departure on Sunday.

Top dignitaries that were spotted at the closing ceremony included the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod, Kaduna State Director of Sports, Yakubu Ibrahim, Technical Director NVBF, Martins Melandi and the Secretary NVBF, Alhaji Maikano.
