Hundreds of traders from the popular Kasuwar Barci in Kaduna South LGA, reputed for sale of second hand clothing may have temporary relocated to the Sabon Tasha Central Market, Chikun LGA in Kaduna metropolis, following the state government’s plan to modernize their market in line with its urban renewal.
Our Correspodent who visited Sabon Tasha Market on Sunday reports that several of second hand clothes dealers were spotted doing business there.
Their wares were displayed along the road, with customers thronging to make purchases.
A customer who pleaded anonymity, said that with the prevailing economic conditions, they find such clothing cheaper to patronise.
“Here we get quality clothes at affordable rates compared to what is sold in the boutiques,” she said.
When asked if the traders in second hand clothing have always been there, she answered in the affirmative, but said she was happy that the number has increased.
“This week I am excited that unlike before when they were few, the number of traders now is like times 20 of what we used to have,’ she explained.
Our correspondent observed that among items displayed were baby clothing, children’s wears, jeans, t-shirts, brassieres and ladies tops.
Also spotted were suits, shirts, sports wears, cardigans and jackets.
