Kaduna Electric FC shocked visiting Kano Pillars FC Feeder Team by ending the game goaless in a friendly match played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Thursday March 19, 2020.
In spite of desperate attempts by both teams to subdue each other, attempts at goal proved futile in the highly competitive game.
Kaduna Electric enjoyed more ball possession in the first half, but the visitors stole the show in the tail end of the second half as they liked pressure on the goal keeper of the hosts who was virtually on holiday.
Speaking to newsmen at the end of the game, Chairman Kaduna Electric FC, Murtala Bello said they were able to escape with the draw because they have a good team.
“As you witnessed, we have a good team and we would start playing in all the state’s FA competitons.
“The interesting thing is that the team comprises solely of staff of Kaduna Electric,” he said.
This marks four years of the team. Kano Pillars is a big team, we are satisfied with the draw.
Speaking further, he assured that their coaches will work on the attack, seeing that they lost a lot of chances at goal.
“we would have won by 3-0 but for chances that were not converted,” he lamented.
He said that they decided to float the team bearing in mind the importance of sports to wellbeing of their staff.
“If you look at the way we played today, it was great, we hope to play in the league in the future.
“We believe sports contributes to health and output,” he said.
For the coach of Kano Pillars, Suleiman Ibrahim Yakasai (Coach Legend), he said that the boys played according to instructions, but were unlucky at goal.
“These boys came through a programme, they are U-17 for Kano Pillars.
“They have been together for three years and have blended well. They play friendly matches with bigger teams to boost their confidence,” he informed.
Several management and other staff of Kaduna Electric thronged the main bowl of Ahmadu Bello Stadium to cheer their team.
