The All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase as he turns 56.
This was expressed in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
“We join well-wishers, colleagues, constituents in celebrating a core party man, true progressive, experienced legislator and advocate of equality, justice and fairness,” it said.
The party recalled the swift legislative attention and subsequent investigation Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase brought to the ill-fated recruitment exercise by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) under the immediate-past administration.
“As the Chairman House Committee on Federal Character, he worked assiduously to correct disparities and imbalances in employment and infrastructural distribution across the country.
“In the leadership of the House of Representatives, the party commends the maturity, competence and cooperation the Deputy Speaker has displayed alongside the Speaker in guiding the affairs of the House. This has resulted in the stability and cross party support for the current House leadership as well as Legislative-Executive cooperation that has ultimately brought about many pro-people legislative interventions and good governance.
“We pray for good health and wisdom as Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase continues to contribute to national development, growth of our great party and upliftment of his constituents.”
