Ebonyi Bullion Van Attack: Death Toll Rises To 5, Umahi Commiserates With Deceased’s Families

Emerging reports concerning the bullion van attack by armed robbers on Wednesday 29th July,2020 has confirmed one more person has been confirmed dead.
An eyewitness who gave his name as Chukwuma Isiali from Izziamgbo Junction through a phone call Confirmed the death of a panel beater at IzziaMgbo Junction whose name is giving as Chinedu,who was also killed by stray bullet emanating from the armed robbers attack.
In the same vein, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has Commiserated with the decease Families who lost their lives during the attack, saying that the loss is a big blow in our Corporate existence as a state.
In a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the governor on Media and publicity,Hon.Francis Nwaze,the governor enjoined Ebonyians not to panic but to freely  go about their normal businesses as the state government is in Control of the matter.
The statement reads: “It is with great sadness that I received the news of the death of our dear servicemen who died yesterday while serving our dear country – escorting bullion van from Enugu to Ebonyi State”. 
“The loss is a big blow on our corporateness which the culprits will never go unpunished.”
“I heartily commiserate with the family of the deceased police officers and the Nigeria police in general, praying that God grants them the fortitude to bear this colossal loss.”
“Let me also assure the public that the Ebonyi State Police Headquarters is already giving all efforts, harnessing all available intelligence to bringing the culprits to book as they have tightened the boundaries against the entrance of hoodlums”.
 Governor Umahi assured Ebonyians not to panic as everything is under control”.

Recall that yesterday, No fewer than four police Men escorting bullion van lost their lives yesterday along  Izhia Mgbo Junction in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi state while others sustained various degrees of injuries as they were escorting a bullion van from Enugu to Ebonyi state Which the state Commissioner of police, Mr.Philip Maku while confirming the incident said robbers  on police uniform trailed the bullion van from Enugu to Ebonyi state noting that the robbers were  unable to loot the van as the driver managed to drive the van out of the area to avoid further attack, stating that investigation has commenced to track down the fleeing robbers.
