*Unveils two new trophies

The President of the Kaduna Polo Club, Alhaji Suleiman Abubakar (Walin Keffi) has disclosed that insistence by their traditional sponsors that the over a century old tradition of the Kaduna International Polo Tournament should not be broken informed the staging of the 2020 edition.

He made this known at a press briefing to herald the tournament billed to commence on Saturday December 7 at the Ahmadu Yakubu Polo Club House, Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna on Saturday night.
Walin Keffi stressed that First Bank NIgeria Plc, traditional sponsors of the prestigious Georgian Cup for over 100 years insisted on an unbroken tournament which features their flagship, which is said to be the most prestigious polo trophy on the African Continent.
” Our usual traditional and glamorous sponsors night was not held as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic this year, but  a media briefing and introduction of rwo new trophies.
“Trobell Nigeria Ltd, Sponsors of the  Trobell Cup, Alhaji Haruna Imran and Alhaji Faruk Hanbali are here to inform us of the new trophy, which  is a high handicap trophy.
“It would be completed for on the last day in front of all dignitaries.
“On behalf of chairman Trobell NIgeria Ltd, Alhaji Lawal Garba, we hope that this trophy will enhance the progress of the club and add to the goodwill Kaduna Polo Club has,” he said.

Speaking further, he also unveiled the second trophy,  Emir of Zazzau Cup, which is sponsored by the Imani Group.

“His Royal Highness  has accepted to be present when the cup will be completed for. Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Bamalli is not only a friend of the club, but also friend to several members of the club. It is also a high goal trophy to be contested on the last day alongside the Trobell and the Georgian Cups,” he informed.
