Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commisserated with Nafada Emirate over the death of Alhaji Suleiman Hamza, who until his death, was the Yariman Nafada.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), Ismaila Uba Misilli.
Aged 78, the district head died on Tuesday, 29th December, 2020 in Gombe after a protracted illness, leaving behind 17 children and many grand children.
In a condolence message, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the death of the retired civil servant as a huge loss not only to Nafada community but the entire state.
He said the late Yariman Nafada will be remembered as a thorough-bred technocrat, statesman and forthright administrator who lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation, especially his commitment to community development and nation building.
The Governor, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, conveyed his sincere condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Emir of Nafada, Alhaji Muhammadu Dadum Hamza and the Nafada Emirate Council over the great loss, praying Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
The late Alhaji Suleiman Hamza worked with the defunct Bauchi State Infrastructural, Rural Development Agency (BASIRDA) and Bauchi State Agricultural Development Programme ( BSADP) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, where he retired as a Director.
He was also a member of Constituent Assembly during the IBB regime in 1988.
