A leader of the Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, has condoled the Governor of Delta State, Sen, Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa over the death of his father. Pa Arthur Okowa who passed away at the age of 88 years.
in a condolence message to Governor Okowa, Hon, Onovwakpo, encouraged the state governor and his immediate family, the good people of Owa-Alero, in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state to take solace, that late Pa Arthur Okowa, lived a goof life worthy of emulation by all.
Hon, Joel also stated that the death of the Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Tim Kome Owhefere, representing Isoko North Constituency, is shocking and devastating.
Hon. Onowakpo who was a former Chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, former State Coordinator of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), for Delta, Edo and Rivers States, said he is yet to recover from the psychological trauma of Hon. Ewhefere passage because, they have come a long way together as close friends and political associates.
In his words, “the exemplary life of Pa Arthur Okowa, can be seen in the discipline and forthrightness he inculcated in his children and those close to him.
“This attributes can be attested to in the quality of life and character of Governor Okowa, who had displayed a very rare leadership discipline and commitment to service of God and humanity.
“Its our prayer to be able to live to bury our aged parents.”
Hon. Onowakpo, who is also the former Chairman of Isoko South LGA, therefore prayed that, “God should grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and also give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
The distinguished business and financial administrator, stressed that, “the good people of Owa-Alero, should console themselves with the fact that God was able to raise among them a man who was able to fulfill destiny by raising a son who is a blessing not just to the community but the entire state”.
“My condolences to the Governor of the state, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, on the demise of his father, Pa Arthur Okorie Okowa, who passed on at age 88.”
In reacting to the death of the law maker, Hon, Joel said, “l was yet to recover from the psychological trauma of Hon. Ewhefere passage because we have come a long way together as close friends and political associates.
“Myself and the late Hon. Ewhofere, had been friends for such a very long time and we have been through alot as political associates, especially when it comes to grassroots politicking in Isoko land where we both came from and learnt the rope about the political structures of our area.
“Hon. Ewhofere, was an astute politician, a grassroot man to the core and a team player anyday, anytime. What Distinguished him mostly is his passion for the growth and development of Isoko nation and this he was committed to all through his stay in the state Assembly.
“I pray God to grant his gentle soul eternal rest and give the family left behind the fortitude to bear the loss”, he stated.
