The Provost, College Of Education, Warri. (COEWA) Prof,  Mary Olire Edema has said that Entrepreneurship Programme is part of the College’s curriculum, compulsory for both the Degree and NCE Students.
The Degree Students in part 3 and NCE Students in part 2 must enroll for the training.
Professor Edema made the statement in her address, during the 2nd edition of the College’s Skills Fair/ Exhibition, held on Thursday, March 4,2021.
She said that, “the skills acquisition exercise is an outflow from the directive of the Executive Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, that students who are leaving the tertiary institution, should leave with skills that could be developed into a trade or business, which will make them earn a living, instead of moving around, waiting for employment.
In one of her quote, Prof,  Mary Edema said that *Skills rule the world today* thus, my administration believes that, “Skill acquisition is a major way to tackle unemployment, within and outside the Country.
“Practical Entrepreneurship training will prove very useful to the students, especially at this time where getting paid employment is very difficult.

“This was what led to the creation of units, where practical skills training can be acquired. This exhibition was the medium of assessment for the students.
“So far, there are six categories of skills, *Poultry, *Fine Cropping, *Welding & Fabrication, *Electrical, *food & Confectionery, *Clothing & Textile and Tye & Dye”.
The exhibition was graced by the Principal Officers of the College, as well as other members of the College Community.
The students from the various skills unit beautifully displayed their products and they were graded by a team of scorers. Agric unit emerged as the winner of this year’s exhibition
