The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council Area, Hon. Dr Michael Tidi has congratulated the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr Amaju Pinnick, on his emergence as the Fifth Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (FIFA).
The election, which was held during the 43rd General Assembly of CAF in Rabat, Morocco, saw the Delta-born football administrator polling 43 of the available 51 votes to become the third Nigerian ever to occupy the seat.
With four others in the race for the two slots allotted to Anglophone speaking part of the continent stepping down for Pinnick, Malawian Walter Nyamilandu insisted on fighting till the end, but he got soundly beaten by the Nigerian who is now one of the most powerful voices on global football today.

“I believe that Mr. Pinnick as Vice President of FIFA would contribute his wealth of experience to the highest decision-making organ in world football.
“On behalf of myself, and the good people of Warri South Local Government Area, we say a big congratulations to Mr Amaju Pinnick. We are proud of you,” Tidi said.
